Advisory Board for Safer Gambling
This detailed paper from 2018 explains the position of the Advisory Board (which was called the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board at the time of publication) on children and young people and gambling. It provides independent advice to the Gambling Commission.
The results of the Gambling Commission’s annual survey on the gambling behaviours of young people aged 11-16 can be found here. In 2018, 31% of surveyed young people said they have paid or used in-game items to open a loot box. 3% said they have bet with in-game items (this is usually called skins gambling).
